Exciting new brand idea: LinkedOut

I had a great idea and I refuse to let it die in my notes app like every other half-erection of entrepreneurship.

Linked-Out. An eBusiness BBS. Anti-LinkedIn. The place where people post the real reason they left their toxic workplace instead of that corporate funeral notice: "Excited to announce I've decided to pursue new opportunities and am grateful for the growth" while the company Slack is still on fire and Karen from HR is rewriting your exit interview into a LinkedIn recommendation that says you "brought energy."

On Linked-Out you get a profile. No headshot required. No "open to work" green circle. No skill endorsements from people who never saw you work. Just a thread: Why I left. And people actually write it.

Manager who scheduled "optional" 7pm standups then dinged you for not being a team player. The VP who called everyone family while laying off half the floor the week before Christmas so the stock options vested nicer. The open-office layout designed by a sadist with a cube fetish. The "we are a family" culture where family means you answer Slack on the toilet and get ghosted when you ask for a raise. The DEI lunch-and-learn that somehow always ended with the same three white guys apologizing for existing while the actual problem (the product ships like wet cardboard) stayed untouched. The founder who raised Series B on vibes and a Figma deck then told engineering to "move fast and break things" while the on-call rotation was already broken men.

You post the story. Other refugees upvote. Someone drops the company name in the replies with a screenshot of the Glassdoor scrub job. Recruiters are banned on sight. HR is permanently rate-limited. The only "connection request" is someone offering you a job that pays actual money and has a door that closes.

Imagine the feed:

"Left after they put me on a PIP for 'tone' because I said the roadmap was fantasy and the designer who never shipped anything kept getting promoted for 'vision.' Also the free LaCroix ran out in March and never came back. Priorities."

"Quit the day my manager asked me to train my H1B replacement while I was still on the payroll. Smiled through the whole knowledge transfer. Walked out with the good monitor. Fuq them."

"Toxic part was not the hours. Toxic part was watching mid-level product managers who couldn't write a SQL query get equity refreshers while the guys who kept the lights on got pizza parties and a Slack emoji. I left. The pizza parties continued. The system did not."

The business model writes itself. Freemium. Basic accounts free so the rage flows. Premium gets you anonymous company pages where current employees can confirm the stories with "still true" stamps. No ads from Workday. No "people also viewed" suggesting you network with the same parasites who made you leave. Just pure, uncut exit interviews with the filter off.

LinkedIn is the funeral home where everyone lies about how peaceful the corpse looks. Linked-Out is the autopsy table. Full report. Cause of death: management by PowerPoint, culture by hostage video, compensation by "exposure," and a benefits package that included unlimited PTO you were never allowed to take.

I will take seed money in the form of leftover equity from places that already died of the same disease. Or just buy me a beer and let me keep drafting the onboarding email:

Welcome to Linked-Out.
You already know why you're here.
Post the body. Name the killer if you want.
We do not do "grateful for the journey."
We do the truth, then we leave the building.
