... actually, by design.
I opened it years ago when I was in Canada, and it was a great place to deposit dividend cheques from Canadian companies I held stock in, and paid dividends in Canadian dollars.
My American bank charged a fee and a rip-off exchange rate. It made sense to have an account and spend that money when I went up to visit.
My last real purchase there was my 5 point Hudson's Bay Blanket, bought the last time I was there. Hudson's Bay Co. is now gone, vanished into Canadian bankruptcy. The companies that used to fill that account have ALL been bought by American companies, who send the dividends onto an AMERICAN account of mine.
The last time I was in VANCOUVER, BC, I was HORRIFIED by the street scene. ALL drugs are legal, and it shows in the knife armed zombies roaming the streets, stealing anything they want. Nobody stops them. I DOUBT it will be a regular destination in the future.
I guess it's time to close that account. One less thing to report to the IRS.

What do you mean? I thought you went over to Canada during the Vietnam war so I was just asking if that was when you opened the account.
