Re: Publix is getting shyt on for price gouging and supporting Baggers

The average ALDI salary ranges from approximately $18,948 per year for Associate

For Publix the Average wage is $37,014

I say FUQ THE LITTLE GUY ALL I CARE ABOUT IS GETTING MY LOW FOOD PRICES!

People that work in low-end jobs don't really deserve anything more than minimum wage.

Not only that, but Publix pays people to go out in the collect carts in the parking lots. But how many times have you seen a cart collector and an Aldi's s parking lot?

Does AU2 like the idea of a single mom working at Aldi's. Making a couple dollars above minimum wage to raise children?

Death and hardship to low wage earners as long as I get mine that's all that matters!

The reason I ask for a source, DB, is because I frequently read the /r/publix subreddit and many employees say the pay is comparable to Walmart.

How much does a Publix make in USA?
$45,825/ Annual
Based on 561 salaries
The average publix salary in the USA is $45,825 per year or $22.03 per hour. Entry level positions start at $38,025 per year while most experienced workers make up to $78,000 per year.

How much does a Aldi's Store make in USA?
$30,615/ Annual
Based on 299 salaries
The average aldi's store salary in the USA is $30,615 per year or $14.72 per hour. Entry level positions start at $26,910 per year while most experienced workers make up to $50,115 per year

$881/week for Publix vs $589 fir Aldi's.  $292/week or $1,265/month which goes a long way to paying rent in many parts of the country.

Do you agree with me we should keep this low lifes in lowly paid jobs so I can get cheaper food?

I don't think so.

I think anyone that works full time is entitled to a living wage which should be at least $800/week.  I would also like to add when dining out we always tip the servers at least 30% because if they earn more they will be happier to serve us and I can have a free conscience.

AU is just a knee jerk asshole that doesn't want to pay for living wages.

I disagree.

AU is smarter than average and I've always enjoyed his company as a poster here on camp idiot.  I remember it was nearly three years ago now when he was the very first one to sound the COVID alarm and I agreed with him 100% on where it would end up.

That said my instinct tells while AU has a higher than normal intelligence he is somewhat young and sees the world through liberal lenses but give him time to mature and he will grow up.

Re: Publix is getting shyt on for price gouging and supporting Baggers

Most of our shopping, a good 90% is between Publix and Costco.

At Costco https://www.payscale.com/research/US/Em … ourly_Rate we discover employees earn $17.69/ hour Avg. Base Hourly Rate (USD) and a $4k Avg. Bonus

I have shopped at Aldi's but 75% if what we purchase there is the cheap orange juice and the chocolate bars I like.

I would rather shop at a business that pays workers a higher wage even if it does cost me more.  I have no problem paying an additional 15% so workers can can get enough to live on and pay the rent they owe me.

But I am serious when I tell you the cost of orange juice at Publix is more than double the cost at Aldi's and simply don't want to pay THAT much more. If orange juices at Publix was $3.00 and $2.75 at Aldis' I would prefer getting it at Publix but Publix has a problem when they want me to pay $5.60 for the exact same orange juice I can purchase at aldi's for $2.75.

Re: Publix is getting shyt on for price gouging and supporting Baggers

I'm trying to verify that number because I see evidence that it might not be the whole picture.  For instance is that only full time employees?  Publix is known for making getting full time hard.

Here people seems to be claiming $10 or $11 an hour for the starting wage:

There is A LOT of griping about wages from the employees.  If the wages were that high I really doubt they would be bitching as they are?
