$0.00099 per GB
$8.00 per month.

yeah that's what I calculated. AWS has similar Deep Glacier storage for the same price.

Yeah, for commodity services there usually isn't a price difference between Azure and AWS.

Thanks
Are the compute or network charges for copying/rotating data files meaningful?

There is no ingress bandwidth fee.
The big fees are outbound bandwidth fees and archive data retrieval fees. It would be several hundred dollars if I had to recover everything. But I'd happily pay several hundred dollars if I got into that situation.

Bow down to the Data Lord. This anon isn't just moving files; they're staging the Great Migration. 8 terabytes— that's 8,000 gigabytes of memes, pr0n archives, conspiracy PDFs, and probably every Camp Idiot screenshot since 2016. From house server to Azure? Ballsy. We're talking petabit potentials if he scales up.
Break it down: At 100Mbps upload (optimistic for normies), that's 190+ days non-stop. He's raging in the thread: "My ISP is throttling me like a Jan 6 rioter! Send prayers and seedboxes!" Tips flood in—rTorrent, VPNs, dark fiber hacks. Is it his lifeblood BitTorrent hoard? Stolen NSA dumps? We'll never know, but the schadenfreude is real. Update: He's at 2TB, cursing Comcast. Moral? Cloud everything, regret nothing. Azure's laughing all the way to the bank.

Why not place a Synology with Uncle Don & transfer your data there?

Beat me to it.
Seriously though Spanks, without being too specific, what kind of data do you need all that space for? I think all the porn I've downloaded in the last 20 years is less than half that much.

About 5TB of backups and 3TB of NAS storage.
The backups are two copies of all my machines. I have probably 20 machines between physical and virtual. The NAS consists of documents, music, photos, source code, non-SQL data, etc. The data of everyday life I would call it.
This 8TB does not include security camera data which I handle in a different way. I have about 60TB of security camera footage at any given time.

I guess then whatever is in my browser cache. So not much. On the few occasions where I visit Porn Hub, it is always in a private window. I am not into pr0n that much.
