When someone reacts from their emotions, those emotions take the front stage of their thoughts. That person doesn't think logically at that point.

In the case of Trump, they are simply reacting emotionally and are not thinking about how the failures in the past have not come to fruition. They also forget the hundreds of times they think Trump will be put in jail only to have someone say what you did. That doesn't even enter their brain before they react with their emotions.

Imagine being able to be controlled because one is overly emotional.
