A convicted felon who years ago killed his father has been arrested after he allegedly set a massive wildfire in eastern Washington state.
Aaron F. Farinacci, 37, was arrested and booked on suspicion of first-degree arson in connection with the Old Trails Fire — one of three fires devastating the Spokane County area.
At a press conference on Monday, August 3, Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels said Farinacci was previously convicted of manslaughter in Arizona.
According to the Associated Press, Farinacci, then 21, fatally shot his father during a fight about washing dishes in Mesa, Ariz. before trying to kill himself in 2010. He was charged with murder but took a manslaughter plea. He was released from custody in 2020
