Maybe another civilization spotted Earth as an Earth-like planet that could support life and either sent the basics of life to get things started here. They could be watching their scientific experiment from afar or they may not be around anymore.

Astrobiology is pretty certain basic life arose on earth. The conditions at that time were both extraordinary and suitable for carbon based life to emerge.

In fact, the conditions at primordial earth were so extraordinary that some believe nothing like it could exist in our vicinity within several thousands of light years.

We could be alone. This angle has to be considered. If we are alone, we need to take pretty damn good care of life and spread diversity throughout the universe.

How am I delusional? Besides, it's getting there. Several incredibly high precision instruments are currently in the works that may well enable us to peek into the makings of an exo-planet.

Life is a cycle that repeats itself. not long from now we will engage the machines in a war we will lose. the remnants of humanity will journey to the planet in the article and and start from scratch /
