It looks like they used a special custom built camera. Created a new data transmission protocol system called "Unified S band" had exclusive use of the frequency and a worldwide line of sight network on Earf.

NASA lost the best tapes of Apollo 11. They were recorded in Australia & they've disappeared.

The black & white camera on 11 was a special slow-scan camera.
