As for running these boards … you don’t know a thing about it until you do it. A lot of previously held beliefs and theories break down. For me, it has utterly altered my views on free speech. I used to be an absolutist. How quaint.

As far as PI went, didn't you post most of it? Didn't you let everyone know which city in Illinois you lived in? Didn't you give volumes of stories about your personal life on the boards? Not saying that you posted all of it but you were rather forthcoming in posting a lot about yourself and your wife.

At this point she doesn't even know about it. The major offense is to me. I find is horrific and it hurts my feelings. That's because I know my wife and she is incredibly kind, generous, empathetic, understanding, and always tries to put others first. She is married to me, so you know that has to say something about her good character! :)

As for my PI . . . there is some backstory you need to have:

I exposed my PI in a different era and for legitimate purposes. I first gave out my PI on FC in a time when giving out your PI wasn't uncommon. In that era, the Internet was much less abusive and much more community oriented. The reason I gave it out was also relevant. I gave it out as part of a business transaction. I was tasked with selling off the assets of the dot com I worked at. FC had a lot of people in my target audience, so I shared the details to facilitate that transaction. I never had any idea what it would lead to over 25 years later.

Also related to my PI . . . it was never all that bad until 2004 or 2005. People knew my name, but nobody ever really came after me off board. Around that time, I was in the process of building my house. I shared some photos of it with the board and, inadvertently, I left the Elgin Sweeper sign in the background of one of the photos. A poster named Willow caught that, tracked it down, and revealed my address. After that was when the attempts to harm me (financially and reputationally) in real life took off and are sustained to this day.

So, my original PI leakage came about as part of a legitimate dealings in a time when sharing PI online wasn't that uncommon. The second PI leakage came about from someone else revealing it.

What responsibility do I have? Some, for sure. Listen, I acknowledge I did some shytty things to FC from an "online community" perspective. I attacked the board, I spammed it. I hacked it. I fuqed with it. I was a real pain in the ass. I was childish. I was immature. And, technically, I was criminal. Of course, other people did the same things as I did on / to FC. It's just that their names weren't out there. But a couple things remain true. First, I never took anything off board. I never went after anybody. I never tried to get people fired. I never tried to "expose" people to their families. I never threatened people. I never even directly revealed PI. I know I indirectly revealed PI through my hacking of F3. That's true. And the most "off board" thing I ever did was called BEN BANNED in his hotel room when he revealed what hotel he was staying at. But all that stuff was a long time ago. F3 was 25 years ago. FC shut down 19.5 years ago. Since then, I haven't engaged in any of those actions. Anything to the contrary is a lie that has become myth. I've aged and matured. I've given back to the community. So, while I certainly deserved some "retribution" for my actions, the payback period long ago should have ended but it didn't and hasn't.

Finally, my wife. She never deserved a single thing that happened to her off board. And she doesn't deserve a single ounce of abuse online today. Nothing said about her is remotely true. Or the things that are true are used to lay the groundwork for massive lies about her. My wife is a great human being and anybody would be lucky to have her in their life and to have her as a friend. Period.

In the end it is time for everyone to move the fuq on over me* and, especially, over my wife.

The poster called himself "Fag," if I am remembering correctly.

He seemed like somebody who was actually dangerous.

First off, P.I. has nothing to do with free speech. And only registered people could post on your board; so you could have easily put a stop to it. You had no problem banning conservative posters for no reason whatsoever, while you conveniently overlooked all the P.I. posting of Spanky, his wife, NewsGuy and Akins. Even full addresses were being posted, and you did nothing to stop it. Yet posters like Demon Guy, Dr. Arkham and NewsGuy, among others, who never broke any rules whatsoever, were all banned. So don't even try and play the free speech card, you two-faced worm of a man.

However, I can honestly say in his defense that I don't recall addresses being posted.
