Old Texas refineries have nothing to do with it and they’re focused on exports from the Gulf anyhow.

Phillips and Kinder Morgan have modern efficient plants with excess capacity in the Midwest and existing capacity to the Borgo hub. The only new pipeline construction will be the short section from Borgo to Phoenix connection and from there they just reverse the flow on the existing pipelines into California.

Phillips says their refining costs will drop by $5 a barrel when they close the 80 year old facility in California.

I don’t know where they found the $7.99 gas, it’s more like $4.95 in NorCal… but when you get 40 mpg or more it’s not worth sweating over.

I hadn't thought about the military angle to this.   Not just the pacific fleet, there is a lot of air and ground military power out west that will be fuqed.   Will Trump take action?
