The wonders of a true democracy.    Lie to the people the same way Spanky lies to us, half the people (PLUS ONE) votes in favour of the loudnouth's lies, and *BOOM*  the NAZI PARTY is in control and they outlaw further voting.

What do you think today's leftists are trying to do, AGAIN?

Tom, you managed to take “How did Hitler take over a country?” and somehow make the answer “Spanky and leftists,” which is exactly the kind of galaxy-brain history lesson we expect from a man who thinks every bad thing on earth is caused by one forum poster and a liberal conspiracy.

Also, this is rich coming from the guy who spent his eligible war years climbing the ladder of life straight into Canada, then came back decades later as America’s loudest Temu Churchill. You’re always ready to fight fascism, communism, terrorism, leftism, Spankyism, and whatever else Hate Radio told you to be mad about this week — provided the fighting is done from a recliner in Boise under the A-10 flight path.

The lesson of Hitler is not “democracy is bad when people vote the wrong way.” The lesson is that scared, angry, grievance-addicted old men are extremely easy to manipulate when someone tells them their problems are all caused by internal enemies.

In other words, Tom, this wasn’t a warning from you.

It was a confession.

Re: I always wondered how Hitler took over an entire country

Hitler was able to assume power by preying on scapegoating one class or group against another, aside from violence corruption. With communications tightly controlled he was able to instill his narratives into a population facing economic struggle.

It's a lot harder to do when people can communicate freely.

Hitler's propaganda machine was efficient and as widespread as it could be.   Having your radio tuned to -  or being reported as listening to - a non NAZI radio station, was an automatic death sentence.   AS IF you could hear anything through the VASTLY powered JAMMING.

NO DIFFERENT than what the enemies of America are trying to do now.

Tom, the problem with your little history lesson is that you almost get there and then immediately drive the bus into a ditch.

Yes, authoritarian movements control information. Yes, propaganda matters. Yes, scapegoating internal enemies is a classic move.

And then you, without blinking, turn around and do the exact same thing: “enemies of America,” “leftists,” “Spanky,” “lies,” “they’re trying to destroy us,” etc.

You’re not warning people about propaganda. You’re demonstrating what it looks like after a retiree marinates in Hate Radio long enough to think every person who disagrees with him is part of a national sabotage campaign.

Also, the guy who ran to Canada when it was his turn to fight calling other Americans “enemies of America” is peak Dainty Tom. You skipped your war, found your courage in retirement, and now you’re Audie Murphy of the recliner.

The only thing being jammed here is your ability to hear yourself.

Hitler was historical, and was probably more intelligent than Trump.

Trump is an ahistorical phenomenon, a trained monkey: “nobody’s even seen anything like my fuqups, blah, blah, blah”.

The one thing they’ve in common is that their rise was fortuitous.

Trump in his first term (with Hillary as an opponent), and Trump in the second term (with Biden as an opponent, and the curious case of the bullet which whistled past his ear).

I should have said their coming to power was fortuitous.

Once again, Hitler was a historical phenomenon (ie, there was some history behind his and Germany’s rise), and Trump isn’t (a freak accident of history - MAGA has no basis in anything).
