Exactly. Every power plant is as unique as a snowflake. Each one has a microclimate and climate studies take at least a year due to, you know, weather and seasons and stuff.

I am pro-nuclear. And I agree that permitting needs to be faster for nuclear. But I also like have a basic understanding of complicated projects and know that it will take several years if done right. Is 10 years a good number? My gut says no. Is six months a good number? My brain says absolutely not.

A power plant is a bigger deal than a data center. And you can see that even in shytbagger states they have just about had enough with zero zoning laws and fast-track approvals. Surprise, surprise. But even the baggiest of baggie baggers are calling for MUH REGULATIONS and MUH MORATORIUMS.

Every single fuqing American who owns a house is going to fight a power plant going up a mile from their house. Well, guess what? The places where you need more power plants are the same exact placers where you are going to have houses nearby.

In the past, you just parked them next to poor people. But, thankfully, we now care a little more about mistreating the poors and aren't so fast to build next to their farmland or housing project.

A climate study requires people to sit around a Stevenson screen gathering statistics for a year. Because historical weather records don't exist and met observations for a given single year are a cast iron predictor of future trends.
