Sub-Saharan Africa never independently produced the wheel as a transport technology, never built widespread bronze metallurgy the way Eurasia did, and never generated writing systems that scaled into bureaucratic civilizations on the Chinese, Mesopotamian, or Mediterranean pattern. That is the archaeological record, not a vibe. Empires rose and fell. Trade routes moved goods. None of it closed the civilizational gap with the places that stacked abstract tools on abstract tools for millennia.

Current psychometric estimates put group means in the 70-80 range for many of those populations. Western clinical language starts calling that zone mild intellectual disability when it shows up in individuals. Means near 100 with thick right tails are what high-trust, high-complexity societies actually run on: planning horizons, impulse control, abstract modeling, deferred gratification, and large-scale cooperation that does not collapse into kinship predation or zero-sum extraction. You do not get modern institutions out of a left-shifted curve without massive external scaffolding, selection, or permanent remediation.

Expecting equal outcomes and frictionless integration from distributions that sit a full standard deviation (or more) left was always a religious claim dressed up as policy. Blank slate ideology said environment would close it. Environment has been tried at continental scale for generations. Crime rates, academic achievement gaps, institutional quality metrics, and the repeated failure of capacity-transfer projects keep lining up with the same distributions. Surprise is for people who never looked at the tails.

This is not "hate." It is the boring consequence of group differences that show up in adoption studies, polygenic scores, reaction-time data, and every large-scale test battery that has not been kneecapped by equity politics. Selection works. Lowered standards work until the bridge falls down. Constant remediation works until the host population gets tired of funding it and pretending the gap is a moral failing of the people who already built the machine. Fairness to the left-shifted group would mean honest expectations and selection for the cognitive traits modern systems demand. Pretending everyone is interchangeable produced the current mess: affirmative action theater, crime stats nobody is allowed to name cleanly, and entire cities that look like the historical lag never ended.

The historical lag was always going to reappear in the data. Blank slate met biology. Biology won. Anyone still shocked is either paid not to notice or too dumb to run the numbers.
