In the last 20 years, technology as advanced, but I feel that phone call audio quality has gotten WORSE.
20 years ago, people generally spoke on the phone by holding the phone receiver near their mouth, or by using a wired headset with boom microphone.
Today, it seems like most people are doing phone calls by using their smartphone speakerphone, laptop embedded microphone, or wireless earbuds, and the audio quality is WORSE.
Half the time, it sounds like the person is drowning in water.
