Nvidia is a financial company masquerading as a tech company, not unlike the "financialization" of General Electric under Jack Welch

Jensen Huang's "Compute as Collateral" thesis is either delusional or disingenuous due to rapid technological obsolescence.  Silicon is not a marketable commodity like gold/silver or an asset with slow, predictable depreciation curves like real estate. In a standard hardware lifecycle, a flagship chip can lose massive economic utility the moment the next microarchitecture goes live. A lender taking title to a data center full of three-year-old GPUs might find the liquid market value of that collateral pennies on the dollar.  Because Nvidia acts simultaneously as the vendor, the ecosystem organizer, and in some cases a structural guarantor backstopping up to 25% of a project's residual value, a sudden drop in compute rental demand creates a closed-loop credit risk. If small cloud providers or AI startups default en masse, the seized collateral cannot be cleanly liquidated without further depressing the market price of the very hardware Nvidia relies on for primary sales.  There's also the very real risk of China aggressively flooding global markets with lower-cost alternative compute power.

YT's "House of El: Ai" has been covering this for a while.

How are you going to not at least have some financial aspects to your business when you're doing 216B in revenue and about 120B in profit a year?  That's so much money that you'll absolutely need a HUGE team of people to deploy it effectively.

A lot of the debt is in corporate paper.  Not a lot of retail activity there.  It's mostly going to be in pension funds (maybe the insurance funds but they are insured) and hopefully foreign regional banks, Germany took a real ass fuqing because their regional banks bought up a lot of CDO's from the US in 2008.

Anthropic $30 trillion revenue target is greater than the entire M2 money supply.

So they are saying, every single US cent in existence will be going to Anthropic. It is slightly ambitious.

NVIDIA today reported revenue for the second quarter ended July 26, 2026, of $96.2 billion, up 18% from the previous quarter and up 106% from a year ago. For the quarter, GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins were both 75.0%. GAAP and non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $2.46 and $2.22, respectively.

“AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “And demand is accelerating. This time last year, one lab alone was driving the buildout; today, we have a golden age of new AI labs and startups, multiple frontier labs scaling in parallel, a thriving open-model ecosystem and physical AI coming online — with strong momentum across the U.S. and around the world. The AI infrastructure buildout is at full steam. Vera Rubin, now in full production, was built to power exactly this moment.”

During the second quarter of fiscal 2027, NVIDIA returned approximately $26.0 billion to shareholders in the form of shares repurchased and cash dividends. As of the end of the second quarter, the company had approximately $99.0 billion remaining under its share repurchase authorization.

NVIDIA will pay its next quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share on October 1, 2026, to all shareholders of record on September 10, 2026.
