I don’t understand privacy freaks.

Resonates with me at exactly 0.1%.

No VPN.

No ad blockers.

No virus or malware detection other than Windows Defender.

No volume encryption.

Use cloud services and subscriptions all the time.

Not a skills issue. I could lock down if I wanted. Just close to zero interest.

Why do you care?

At this point, it's a lost cause. The younger generation just doesn't give a fuq about privacy. It's more of a real life thing for me, I don't like law enforcement being able to use FLIR cameras and drones to get information on people, and you shouldn't be tracked by a camera network the moment you leave your house, but, again, the younger generation just doesn't give a fuq about privacy...

Meh, I dont care one way or the other.

If "they" want to watch me go for a walk each morning, more power to em.

There isnt much interesting about me.

Its a waste of their resources. That bothers me more than them watching me.

I agree with you at a societal level.

Neuter the government's ability to inflict punishment.

Just at an individual level I don't care, personally, for myself.

I'm pretty sure that you don't hand out PI or FI to sketchy links.

Sure. I mean I don't enter a CC number into a random website. But that is different than taking proactive pro-privacy steps.

Re: I don’t understand privacy freaks.

Any security I implement is to protect my created works from theft or loss. Any relevant authority can get at your stuff all they want. They can probably watch you all they want too.
Younger generations grew up with porn and live action freakyness so they have zero shame. They also have no money or possessions of value or income, so they have nothing to secure.

I have concerns about the asymmetric information piles.

Do you know that any institution that you have a financial relationship with can pull your entire credit report at any time and don't have to notify you?

Not paying attention to privacy is a great way to get a lot of free pizzas.

Well, you have to have authorized that. And you may well have done so in some fine print somewhere.

But, to your point, yes I know that. Why would I possibly care? Why do you care?

Dynamic pricing.

Sure, I'm OK with the government having at-will access to every single aspect of my life, it's not like they'd ever abuse that power or anything

Fair enough.

Small problem right now relative to the benefit.

I would propose regulating away dynamic pricing.

I didn’t say that. Nor did I imply that.

We need all your details.
Then we can lose them in a cyber attack.
Business as usual.
