Are you sure? I've always heard/intuited the exact opposite of that.

Guess it depends on what you mean by "controlled," and where you as an individual CHOOSE to take your (let's say) above-average IQ.

In my case, my parents were a lawyer and a nurse in a medium-sized, middle class, Midwestern, Catholic milleu with zero ambition so to speak (yet still got divorced eventually).
