Republican Panic Sets In Over Prospects of a Massive Blue Wave

With less than six weeks to go until Election Day, the sentiment among Republicans is shifting from nervous to fatalistic, as a pileup of bad news has many convinced they are heading toward an electoral disaster.

The warning signs are coming in quickly from across the map—much on it from red states where President Trump won comfortably just two years ago. Outside groups backing the GOP are now spending in the millions on Senate races in once-safe territories like Nebraska and Kansas; South Carolina, Mississippi, South Dakota, and Arkansas are all drawing renewed attention amid fears of a historically massive blue wave.

Some of this loss will be self-inflicted:

‘They Picked the Wrong Candidate’: 12 Texas Swing Voters on the Paxton-Talarico Race

For years, Democrats have hoped to win a Senate seat in Texas, which has not elected a Democrat statewide since the 1990s. According to polling, that hope appears to be closer in reach this year than any other time in recent memory. Why?

This month, Times Opinion spoke with 12 Texans who voted for President Trump in 2024 and now either were considering voting for James Talarico, the Democratic candidate for Senate, or were undecided about whether to vote in that race at all.

This NYT focus group of Trump-->swing voters in Texas is brutal. They just keep saying over and over again the problem is Paxton, they'd have been fine with Cornyn, what was wrong with Cornyn, etc etc etc

It's really quite stunning how badly Trump and the baggers have fuqed up. We predicted it, of course, but it is till surprising to see all the predictions come true.

One SuperPAC has already committed over $120M to prop up Paxton.  If Trump didn't have a grudge against Cornyn, the election would be no contest.

You really posting a guy who is replying to himself? From Punchbowl news?
Does he really not know anyone else to reply to?
Seems a little sad to run around all day replying to yourself...
Maybe we can ask Spanky or one of his sockpuppets he talks to all day long

He was updating the total.  It had gone up 9 or 10 million dollars.
