> ROFL: oil prices jump as Trump announced today he’s sending a third aircraft carrier and another Marine Amphibious Group to the Gulf

The Pentagon is deploying up to 10K additional troops and a third aircraft-carrier strike group to the Middle East, according to a media report published Thursday, as U.S. President Donald Trump weighs renewed military action against Iran following the midterm elections.

The newly dispatched naval forces, which include the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, departed from San Diego this week and are scheduled to arrive by late November, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing U.S. officials.

This influx of fighter jets, warships and personnel from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit will bolster the more than 50K U.S. service members currently stationed in the region.
