Don't get me wrong, I'm all about teh firearms too. Just don't ever forget your weapons of last resort. If your weapon of last resort is a pistol, you're already fuqed.

The interesting statistic that caught my eye was that the average Amok episode killed 15 people. And that was regardless of the weapon. Believe it or not a grown man in good shape can do more damage by far with a sharpened machete or a samurai sword in a given time than a gun, particularly in close quarters. In close guns are difficult to wield and as we saw the gunman was rapidly tackled by people in close to him that he couldn't get a bead on.

What are you going to do? Ban machetes?

While you're in a self righteous mood why don't you take a holiday in nearby Malaysia and start a campaign against acid attacks on women there? you could ban acid...
